Following the verdict in Sean “Diddy” Combs’ trial, one of the male escorts allegedly hired for his “freak offs” is offering an apology to Cassie Ventura.
Identified during the trial as “Don,” the escort and model spoke exclusively with PEOPLE shortly after a Manhattan jury acquitted Combs, 55, of the most serious charges he faced — sex trafficking and racketeering — but convicted him on lesser prostitution-related charges.
Don tells PEOPLE that while he and Ventura haven’t spoken since the two or three times they were together at freak offs in 2016, if they spoke today, he would express remorse for being part of “one of the worst times” of someone’s life.
“I would do everything in my power to explain how sorry I was that I was a part of a situation that she’s going to view as a nightmare for the rest of her life and that I wish I had some type of inkling of what was actually going on so that I could not be a participant,” Don says.

He also tells PEOPLE that he would apologize to another of Combs’ ex-girlfriends — a woman who identified him during the trial and testified under the pseudonym “Jane.” Don claims he was hired by Combs for several sex parties with Jane between 2021 and 2024.
“As far as a message I would give to Cassie and [Jane], I would say, ‘I apologize, I’m a son and I’m a brother, and I have lots of women in my life, [and] that this whole case has made me take a second look at my part and causing hurt to somebody without knowing that I was doing so,’” Don shares.
“So I’d like to apologize and just say that I wish that if there was any communication to be had, that it could have happened, and I maybe could have been somebody to help them by just getting up and saying that I’m not wanting to do this.”

Both Ventura and Jane claimed Combs coerced them with threats of violence and blackmail to participate in drug-fueled sex sessions with male escorts that he called freak offs or “hotel nights.” Combs has said that all the sexual acts were consensual.
Don tells PEOPLE that he did not personally witness Combs abuse either Cassie or Jane, but he does not question their accounts.
“There’s no way to discredit what those women went through and the issues that they had outside of the bedroom,” he says.
“I’m never going to take that away from the victims,” Don continues. “Even though in my experience they seemed as willing participants, I know that there’s a difference between going through what you went through in private and then putting on a good face for your partner because this is what your partner is enjoying — and you want to bring that type of joy to [your] partner, but it may not be something that you’re necessarily comfortable with.”
“I do feel that they feel they were victimized, and they were made to do things against their will,” he adds.
As for Combs, Don says the music mogul should make “some type of public proclamation” and apologize to Ventura and Jane.

On Wednesday, July 2, Combs was convicted on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution but was acquitted of the more serious charges he faced — sex trafficking and racketeering.

Sentencing is scheduled for October 3. Combs could receive a maximum of ten years in prison for each of his two prostitution-related convictions, though his lawyers expect him to be sentenced to about two years in prison.
Aside from his criminal convictions, Combs faces dozens of civil lawsuits from plaintiffs who have accused him of sexual misconduct. He has denied all the accusations laid forth in the filings.
