Estonia’s Karel Tilga worked for years to perfect his craft, and he suffered terribly during an embarrassing attempt at pole vaulting.

Fans were left stunned as Karel Tilga’s attempt at the pole vault went horribly wrong at the Paris Olympics, and they hoped he wouldn’t be injured.

The Estonian athlete competed in the decathlon but struggled in the pole vault, as shown in the video below.

Tilga got set to make his jump on the pole vault, but things went terribly wrong as he got in the air. He was stuck there as he held on for dear life. He promptly fell backward on his behind, and his head snapped back towards the ground.

Karel Tilga was lying there until he regained himself.

The results show Markus Rooth of Norway winning gold, Leo Neugebauer of Germany winning Silver, and Lindon Victor of Grenada winning bronze.
