Breaking: Former Alabama Football Player Dies After Getting Hit By Car In A Tragic Story

The Alabama football community was hit hard on Sunday morning when news broke that former cornerback Terrance Howard passed away days after getting hit by a vehicle in North Carolina.

Howard is from Missouri City, Texas, and walked on to the Crimson Tide last season but would not see any game action; and entered the transfer portal this offseason and committed to play at North Carolina Central University in Durham.

According to Mike Rodak from 247sports.com, “Howard was driving his belongings from Tuscaloosa to Durham, North Carolina, late last month when he was involved in a minor accident on Interstate 85 in North Carolina, his family told KPRC-TV. When Howard exited his vehicle to check on the other car involved in the accident, he was struck by another vehicle.”

Rodak also stated, “Howard suffered brain trauma and was placed on life support, and spent several days in hospitals as his family hoped for his recovery and asked for donations. His father posted a series of Facebook Live videos Thursday showing Howard’s death in the hospital and alleging mistreatment by the facility.”

The tragic passing of Howard is the second former Crimson Tide player to lose their life due to a car-related accident this summer. Khyree Jackson and his two former high school teammates were tragically struck by a suspected drunk driver who was traveling at a high rate of speed, taking the lives of all three people in Jackson’s car.

Jackson spent two seasons with Alabama in 2021 and 2022 before transferring to Oregon last season. There, he turned himself into the Minnesota Vikings’ 108th overall pick this past April.

It’s terrible to see both Howard and Jackson lose their lives at such young ages when both of them had such bright futures ahead of them on and off the football field.
