That’s exactly what happened when the @JPAFootball account on X stirred up a storm by sharing a tier list from fan page @Diazenlanfl. The list aimed to sort all 32 NFL fan bases from best to worst, but let’s just say it hit a nerve, and then some.
While Detroit, Minnesota, Buffalo, Green Bay, and Seattle fans earned top billing as “The Best Fans,” the real commotion erupted at the bottom. The final tier, bluntly labeled “Non-Existent,” included five teams that immediately sparked outrage and debate across social media.
Fan Bases Taking Heat
The Arizona Cardinals, Jacksonville Jaguars, Los Angeles Chargers, Washington Commanders, and Carolina Panthers landed in the so-called fan base basement. It’s not hard to see why this sparked backlash. NFL Fans of these teams fired back instantly, many pointing out what they saw as flawed logic or clear regional bias.
One Commanders fan responded, “If you think Washington has no fanbase, you don’t watch football…”
Another argued, “There is one MASSIVE error on that list: Commanders fans are diehard and legit. At least ‘Good’ tier.”
Rams fans were quick to deflect criticism, calling out the Chargers for lacking presence at SoFi Stadium. Several fans argued that despite the noise about low attendance, Rams games still draw strong home support, especially compared to their stadium-sharing rivals.
Just above the “Non-Existent” category sat a tier labeled “Insufferable,” sparking its own round of complaints. This group included some of the most polarizing franchises: the Cowboys, Giants, Eagles, Patriots, and Chiefs. Whether it’s long-standing rivalries, recent dominance, or fan arrogance, these teams regularly rub opponents the wrong way.
Predictably, NFL fans from outside the bottom tiers took the chance to question the rankings too. Some challenged the inclusion of loyal bases like Minnesota, while others pointed to overlooked fan groups like the Jets, who continue to show up despite years of disappointment.
