Jason Kelce has opened up on the secret to his success on the golf course while taking part in this week’s celebrity tournament at Lake Tahoe.
Kelce is one of several high-profile names competing in the 2024 American Century Championship, along with actors Rob McElhenney and Miles Teller, NBA Hall of Famer Charles Barkley, NFL quarterback Aaron Rodgers and many more.
And as he battles it out with a number of famous faces in the Sierra Nevada Mountains, the retired Philadelphia Eagles legend has revealed that sinking a few beers during rounds actually improves his game – so long as he doesn’t overdo it.
‘There’s a point of an overturn. Usually two to three [beers] over the course of the round, that’s my sweet spot,’ he told Access Hollywood. ‘Once I’m over two to three, game starts to go downhill quickly.
‘But there is like a two to three range where I definitely play significantly better. So the swing lube is real.’

Kelce was seen swigging a drink on the course as he posed next to a sign celebrating brother Travis’ current reign as the 2023 Korbel Long Drive Champion, after the Kansas City Chiefs tight end hit an incredible 363-yard drive last year.
Despite his younger sibling’s success in Korbel, Jason insists he is not looking to outdo him at Lake Tahoe this week.
‘Oh man, I’m not trying to beat anybody I don’t think. I’m trying to really just put together a respectable round. That’s my goal.
I was talking to [WWE star] The Miz yesterday and he said he finished second to last, so I guess I’ll try to beat The Miz. But he was talking a big game and he was looking to improve his, so we’ll see.’
Kelce’s swing was brutally mocked by fans on social media after he was seen practicing on the Edgewood Tahoe South driving range on Wednesday.
A number of users drew brutal comparisons between the 36-year-old and US President Joe Biden, with one writing on X: ‘That was a Biden swing all day’.
Last month’s presidential debate included a heavy dose of golf talk with challenger Donald Trump boasting that he won ‘two club championships’ on courses he owns while insisting Biden ‘can’t hit a ball 50 yards.’

On Wednesday, footage of the retired Philadelphia Eagles center’s session at Edgewood Tahoe South driving range was posted on X, where fans likened his swing to Joe Biden’s
In response, Biden claimed top have a 6 handicap during his days as Barack Obama‘s VP, which Kelce referenced in his fan interactions on X.
‘No chance I’m a 6 handicap!’ Kelce wrote to the fan.
‘Me either,’ the fan responded.
A 6 handicap would have put Biden among the top-10 percent of amateur golfers, which Trump wasn’t buying in the slightest.
‘That’s the biggest lie—that he’s a 6 handicap,’ said Trump, who has faced similar allegations of dishonesty on the course.
