Olivia Wilde Goes Nearly Naked (but Avoids Baring Her Nipples) in Sheer Dress at 2025 Vanity Fair Oscar Party

The 2025 Oscars have come to a close, but not to fret, the afterparties are just getting started — and Olivia Wilde is one of the stars leading the pack.

For the Vanity Fair Oscar Party, the Don’t Worry Darling director stepped out in sexy fashion with tons of skin on display, which is very on par with the star’s daring, often naked, red carpet looks.

Wilde’s ensemble featured a boho-chic Chloé frock — from the label’s Spring/Summer 2025 ready-to-wear collection — that was embellished and almost completely sheer, meaning its wearer’s lace underwear was very much on display. However, the actress cleverly hid her nipples with the strategically placed ruffles decorating the ultra low-cut neckline.

She accessorized the delicate dress with a circular gold clutch purse and a long silver pendant necklace.

Her glam was kept effortlessly chic, comprised of a smokey eyeshadow look and barely there beach waves.

Before hitting the carpet, Wilde shared behind-the-scenes photos of her getting ready and they, were, to say the last, very relatable.

Alongside a selfie of her wearing what appeared to be three under-eye patches (with one worn on her forehead), Wilde wrote, “Cool that the Oscars are the last day of a multi-night bender to really test everyone’s resilience.”

She was likely referring to the stylish nights out she had before attending Vanity Fair‘s post-Oscars fête.

On March 1, the actress stepped out in a cool rocker look for the Chanel and Charles Finch dinner. Only 24 hours before, she attended a get-together for Saint Laurent and Vanity Fair in a blazer, button-up shirt, tie and trousers, all of which contributed to a chic twist on normcore.

Wilde’s recent look is not far from the nipple-baring fashion she’s worn in the past.

From her almost see-through Alexandre Vauthier chainmail dress for the 2022 Los Angeles Museum Gala to her nipple-y 2022 People’s Choice Awards Christian Dior gown — and her super-sheer Saint Laurent Paris Fashion Week ensemble — the film star has taken a stance for the no-bra movement that all naked-look-lovers subscribe to.

One of Wilde’s past Vanity Fair Oscar Party looks even solely included a leather bra and one-shoulder gown, making for a sultry moment for all to take note of.

In 2023, her stylist for nearly two decades, Karla Welch, spoke with PEOPLE about what goes into styling Wilde in her bold outfits. “We have such a trust, and that’s why we’re successful,” Welch said. “That’s the ultimate goal for me with any of my clients, is that they trust me.”

Welch added that she and Wilde are close enough now that there’s little back-and-forth on deciding the final outfit (it’s always relative to Wilde’s “bohemian spirit”), but to get the vibe for each event just right, they still have a touch-base.

“She always looks bangin,'” Welch gushed. “She’s obviously very sexy,” she said, adding, “But she’s also a smart, powerful woman, which is fun to play off of.”
