ESPN Analyst Dan Orlovsky Catches Heat Over Now Deleted “Protect Our Daughters” Tweet

A women’s Olympic boxing match between AImane Khelif of Algeria and Angela Carini of Italy has sparked some serious debate on social media which has included ESPN analyst Dan Orlovsky

Just 46 seconds into the match, Carini quit and avoided any type of handshakes with her opponent Khelif. Carini went on to say she stopped the fight due to a pain in her nose, but many, including Orlovsky, think something larger is at hand.

The rumor circling is that Khelif is a transgender woman despite having never identified as such. However, this rumor was enough for Orlovsky to make a tweet saying “Protect our daughter,” which was deleted but reposted on X.

Many online think that Orlovsky only deleted this tweet to save face and limit the backlash he was receiving.

“Dan O is another sheep. Funny how all these “do your own research” clowns aren’t doing research on this Algerian female boxer,” said one user.

“I hope ESPN DELETES his employment,” said another.

“We live in a time where it’s never been easier to access information and someone like Dan Orlovsky who gets paid to research sports couldn’t take 5 seconds to Google information before tweeting some nonsense,” wrote a third.

Orlovsky has yet to make another comment on the situation.
