Cam Newton’s transition over to the sports media world hasn’t stopped him from speaking his mind, no matter how controversial it is.
On Thursday, Cam stuck himself right in the middle of a huge controversy in the sports media world involving Fox Sports’ Joy Taylor and Skip Bayless.
A lawsuit was filed against Fox Sports by a former hairstylist of theirs, Noushin Faraji, in which Taylor and Bayless were both named several times. Taylor was accused of a ignoring Faraji’s revelation of a sexual misconduct incident among other things, while Bayless is accused of inappropriately touching Faraji and propositioning her for sex.
Fox Sports hasn’t said much about this lawsuit, which also names multiple other employees. When discussing fans complaining about Baltimore Ravens tight end Mark Andrews ducking the media after a costly miscue in their recent playoff loss, Newton said folks should be holding Fox Sports to the same standard.
“When there’s a Fox report that comes out and we haven’t heard anybody speak about anything or make any type of public announcement, nobody has held Fox to that same thing. So why are we talking about making a big fuss about Mark Andrews if you’re not going to keep that same energy across the board?” Newton said on “First Take.”

Andrews has been heavily criticized for largely going dark after his crucial drop during last Sunday’s AFC Divisional Round game against the Buffalo Bills. Andrews finally addressed the matter on Instagram on Thursday night.
As for the Fox Sports lawsuit, it’s all quiet for now, with folks waiting for more details to come to light. In Newton’s eyes, though, if it’s OK for the big-time network to be quiet during their trying times, the same privilege should have been given to Andrews.
