Trump signs executive order to salvage TikTok

President Trump signed an executive order to salvage TikTok and give its parent company 90 days more to sell off the popular platform.

The 78-year-old argued that in response to him saving TikTok, the US should get half of its ownership but caveating that some of that could be from the private sector.

“I do the deal for the I’m talking about doing the United States, if I do the United States, I think we should get half,” Trump said.

TikTok’s parent company had a Jan. 19 deadline to sell off the platform due to national security concerns or face a ban. It neglected to do so.
