Calls Mount Against NFL Referees’ Patrick Mahomes & Chiefs Bias As Texans Suffer Multiple Penalties in AFC Divisional Round

Controversy has erupted during the AFC Divisional Round matchup between the Kansas City Chiefs and Houston Texans. Early in the game, Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes benefited from a highly disputed roughing the passer penalty. Texans pass rusher Will Anderson Jr. appeared to make minimal contact with Mahomes, yet the flag was thrown. Upon reviewing the play, ESPN’s Troy Aikman and Russell Yurk both questioned the call, suggesting the hit didn’t warrant a penalty. Aikman even expressed doubts about any helmet-to-helmet contact.

This, along with other decisions, has ignited outrage among fans on social media. One user tweeted, “Kansas City Chiefs games are unbearable to watch. Referees might as well have on red jerseys 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂,” while another called it “@HoustonTexans referees at it AGAIN! Favoring KC and Bs calls !! Rigged !! Booooo.” Many fans believe the officials are favoring the Chiefs and Mahomes.

With Houston attempting to battle back, the spotlight remains on the officiating as the Chiefs continue to hold a slim lead in the second quarter. Fans will be watching closely for any further controversial calls.
