Cameras caught Jayden Daniels’ cool-as-a-cucumber reaction to Zane Gonzalez’s game-winning field goal that secured the rookie quarterback’s first career playoff win.
A near-perfect game by Jayden Daniels led the Washington Commanders to a thrilling 23-20 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Wild Card Weekend. Gonzalez made the 37-yarder on the game’s final play to clinch Washington’s first playoff win since 2005, also a Wild Card Round win in Tampa.
After the game, the NFL X/Twitter account shared a video of Daniels’ ice cold reaction to Gonzalez’s so-called “Divisional Doink”. Incredibly, Daniels reacted as if he’s already won dozens of playoff games:

Daniels completed 24 of 35 pass attempts for 268 yards, two touchdowns and zero interceptions in the victory. He led the Commanders with 36 rushing yards and took just one sack against Tampa’s vaunted front seven.

The Commanders will visit the top-seeded Detroit Lions in the Divisional Round on Saturday night. If Washington wins, they’ll reach the NFC Championship Game for the first time since 1991 — the last year they won the Super Bowl.
Regardless of what happens from here, 2024 has been a tremendous success in year one of the Daniels-Dan Quinn era.
