Football fans were making the same joke about Colorado Buffaloes quarterback Shedeur Sanders during a forgettable Alamo Bowl performance on Saturday.
The Buffaloes were crushed 36-14 by the BYU Cougars in the Alamo Bowl, marking a disappointing end to the Shedeur Sanders-Travis Hunter era in Buffalo. Both are widely expected to be top-five picks in the 2025 NFL Draft, with their declarations expected to be announced very soon.
Many expect Sanders to be the first player taken in the 2025 NFL Draft, and the New York Giants will hold the top pick if they lose their final two games. He even wore Giants-themed cleats for the Alamo Bowl, suggesting that’s exactly where Sanders wants to land in the draft:

But after Saturday’s humiliating loss to BYU, fans couldn’t help but poke fun at the prospect of Sanders going to the Giants:
“Shedeur is looking like a Giants QB tonight,” joked the BetMGM X/Twitter account.
“Shedeur put on Giants cleats and his life started falling apart,” wrote a fan.
“Shedeur Sanders put on Giants cleats and already played like a current Giants QB. We’re doomed,” a disgruntled Giants fan posted.
“Shedeur Sanders ever since he put the New York Giants cleats on,” another wrote with a video of Daniel Jones’ lowlights with New York.

“Someone tell Shedeur he doesn’t have to tank, only the Giants do,” a fan joked.
“Shedeur already lookin like a Giants QB💔,” posted another.
“Shedeur wore the Giants cleats and now the final score of his game looks like a typical Giants game,” a user wrote.
“Shedeur taking 23 yard sacks proves he is ready to be a New York Giant,” a fan said.
Shedeur Sanders Had A Woeful Final NCAA Game
Sanders completed just 16 of 23 pass attempts for 208 yards, two touchdowns and two picks in the loss to BYU. This performance shouldn’t affect his draft stock whatsoever, but it certainly isn’t the end Deion Sanders and company wanted for Shedeur’s NCAA career.
