The Las Vegas Raiders may not be playing for much these days, but they still can’t be happy about the unusual developments before their week 17 game against the New Orleans Saints.
The Raiders are set to take on the Saints at the Caesars Superdome in Louisiana, but they weren’t afforded a whole lot of time to sleep or prepare for the matchup due to mechanical issues with their flight.
According to reports, the team’s plan was scheduled to depart from Las Vegas early Saturday morning. However, mechanical issues forced their flight to be delayed, and they didn’t take off until 7 pm pacific time. As a result, the team didn’t land in New Orleans until midnight central time, just 12 hours ahead of their 12pm CT kickoff.
According to ESPN’s Paul Gutierrez, the team boarded the flight but had to get off as the plane was swapped out for a new one.
FOX’s Peter Schrager added that the players will be playing today’s game while short on sleep and without getting in their regular preparation. It’s just another issue in a season that’s been full of them for the Raiders.

After showing signs of promise with Antonio Pierce as their interim head coach down the final stretch of the 2023 season and finishing with an 8-9 record, many felt as though the Raiders could surprise in 2024. That hasn’t been the case, however…

Far from it!
Vegas enters today’s game with a 3-12 record, which has them in good position to earn a top 5 pick in the 2025 NFL draft.
After going through an uninspiring carousel of quarterbacks this season, Raiders fans can take solace in the fact that their club should be set up to draft a promising young franchise quarterback this offseason.
