The Kansas City Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes and Las Vegas Raiders’ Maxx Crosby love to exchange heated words when they meet on the NFL field but it all comes from a place of love according to the defensive end.
Both competitors in the AFC West the pair usually meet twice a season, once at the Arrowhead Stadium and once at the Allegiant Stadium so they know each other quite well and often joked to one another, as well as praising their talents.
But sometimes, according to the 27-year-old Raider, it even gets a little bit heated in tight games such as their 19-17 contest on November 29 as the Chiefs emerged with the all-important spoils of war.
“I tell everybody I love Patrick. That’s why we’re so close to each other every time we see each other. You know that’s my guy,” Crosby said of the quarterback to the Let’s Go podcast. “I respect the hell out of him.
“I look at him as the best at his position. I look at myself with the best of what I do. So it just a match made in heaven. It’s either like, Pat looks at me, and he’s like, ‘that was a good rush. That was good s**t.’
“Or, like, I make him step up, throw the ball real quick. He’s like, ‘That would have been a touchdown if you weren’t there.’ I’m like, ‘appreciate it.’ “And then there’s other times he’s like, ‘Get behind me man, get up off me.’ I’m like, ‘Shut up b**ch.’ That’s our conversation sometimes. So you know, it gets a little rated R from time to time.”
How much does Maxx Crosby earn?
Crosby was drafted in the fourth round in 2016 out of Eastern Michigan and has created a very successful career for himself since, becoming a two-time All-Pro (2021, 2023) and a three-time Pro Bowl nominee (2021-present).
