VIDEO: Bears HC Matt Eberflus Had The Worst Response Imaginable When Asked About His Embarrassing Clock Mismanagement That Cost His Team A Chance At Beating The Lions On Thanksgiving

During the first game on Thanksgiving day, the Detroit Lions won a nail-biter against the Chicago Bears 23-20. The game would end in heartbreak for Chicago, and much of the blame has fallen on head coach Matt Eberflus.

With seven seconds left, the Bears ran a play from the 41yard line with a deep shot and just four yards away from field goal range. It would fall incomplete, the clock hit triple zeros, and the game ended.

However, the Bears still had one timeout left, so many wondered why Eberflus called for a deep shot instead of just trying to get a few yards, then calling a timeout and going for the tie.

After the game, he was asked about the situation and completely tip-toed around the situation.

“Like I said, disappointing for the players. They put a lot of work in that short week. Put themselves in a position to win that game,” he said as the main message in his response.’

Matt Eberflus Is Likely On His Way Out

This was just the latest in heartbreaking losses for the Bears, which might signal the end of Eberflus’s time in Chicago.

Of course, he’s been the head coach for 45 games with the team, and his record is 14-31. The Bears are currently 4-7 and have almost no chance of making the playoffs.
