New York Giants Take Their Humiliation Of QB Daniel Jones To A Whole New Level With Their Head-Scratching Decision During Thursday’s Practice

The New York Giants are handling Daniel Jones’s situation horribly. It could be the biggest fallout between a player and an organization.

At first, it was a simple benching for Jones, which seemed fine after some poor performances, but then it was announced he’d be the third string.

That had to sting until it was practically confirmed he would be bumped down to fourth string to make room for Tim Boyle, who was recently signed.

However, the final blow came after it was released that Jones was spotted playing scout team safety during Thursday’s practice.

This likely makes Jones the highest-paid scout team player in NFL history with his mega four-year $160 million deal he signed, which is supposed to be effective until 2027.

It’s not as if Jones was ever super respected as a quarterback in New York, so it’s not exactly a fall from grace for him, but there are almost no instances in NFL history where a player has been demoted this much and this quickly.

However, these recent moves almost confirm that the Giants will cut Jones at the end of the year. If so, the team will be known for one of the worst contract extensions ever.

Social Media Can’t Help But Fell For Daniel Jones

Even if you thought Jones should have been benched or didn’t deserve his contract extension, this is hard to see.

Many on social media are now showing support for Jones, hoping he improves with his next team, and calling out the Giants for handling the situation.

If he were a free agent after this season, Jones could find himself a bridge quarterback for a team that doesn’t want to rush a rookie.
