Cowboys star Trevon Diggs confronted a reporter in the hallway at Levi’s Stadium after Dallas lost to the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday. Less than 15 minutes after the Cowboys’ 30-24 loss to the 49ers went final, the cornerback came out of the Cowboys locker room and spoke to WFAA-TV reporter Mike Leslie about one of Leslie’s posts on X criticizing Diggs during the game.
Early in the third quarter, Diggs was covering 49ers wide receiver Chris Conley and didn’t see quarterback Brock Purdy connect with tight end George Kittle until late into the play, continuing to jog while Kittle raced for the end zone. Diggs did recover and sprinted to shove Kittle out of bounds at the 3-yard line to prevent a touchdown.

After the completion, Leslie posted, “What is Trevon Diggs doing on this play?” That post was the impetus for Diggs, who was still in his full uniform and pads, to confront Leslie after the game. The exchange was captured on video by KXAS-TV reporter Newy Scruggs.
“That’s what you took from that? Out of that whole play, that’s what you took from that?” Diggs asked Leslie. “You don’t know football. You can’t do nothing that I do. You can’t go out there and do nothing. Stay in your lane, buddy. Stop playing with me, bro.”

As Diggs turned to walk back to the locker room, Leslie responded, “Just asking a question, Trevon. I mean, I’m happy to have you answer the question.” That prompted Diggs to turn back around to repeat, “That’s what you got from that?” a few times. Diggs then dropped an expletive as Leslie said, “We can talk about it more.”
Diggs ended the conversation with, “Talk about deez nuts.”
While Scruggs’ video has since gone viral, Leslie also posted about the confrontation and later added a second post referencing Diggs’ final line: “I do not have a comment about deez nuts,” Leslie wrote.
The Cowboys were already a mess coming into the 49ers game, with all sorts of off-the-field drama surrounding owner Jerry Jones. Between members of the Jones family getting injured in a bizarre traffic incident and Diggs’ spat with a reporter, it sure doesn’t seem like that drama will be ratcheting down anytime soon.
