Cowboys Owner Jerry Jones Finally Admits What Everyone Already Knows About Him

When it comes to NFL owners, there likely isn’t any that are talked about more than the owner of the Dallas CowboysJerry Jones.

Unfortunately, it’s usually not for the right reasons and revolves around criticism of how he runs the team. After his recent comments on 105.3 The Fan, Jones admits that is by design.

“You’ll never have a day when the NFL isn’t on free TV for almost every part of it. We want to stay very accessible. I think that has a lot to do with (the NFL’s popularity).”

“The biggest thing that makes the NFL as popular as it is, in my mind, is it’s a soap opera every day, 365 days a year. It’s promoting interest in football when the teams aren’t playing.”

“When it gets slow around here, I will stir it up,” Jones said.

Of course, if you remember, just a few weeks ago, Jones threatened to fire a radio host on the same show after he questioned the owner on his lack of moves in the offseason to better the team.

It was easily one of Jones’s lowest points since becoming the Cowboys owner in 1989, and luckily, the radio host did not lose his job.

Fans Are Outraged At Jerry Jones For Creating Drama

If you’re a Cowboys fan, Jones’s comments must be infuriating, and many on social media did not hold back.

“That’s all he cares about man please step down,” said one comment.

“That’s the problem. It ‘s not about football, it’s about creating drama and keeping your name in the paper. Cowboys aren’t entertaining to watch this year. He is starting not to care about that now, I guess,” said another.

“Yeah, constant drama is so much better than even a single NFC Champ game appearance in the last 30 years,” added a third.
