The Kansas City Chiefs just made a game-changing move this week before they play against the Las Vegas Raiders, and it’s a move that could change the whole dynamic of the season for the Chiefs as they deal with some pretty bad injuries at a pretty bad time.
The Chiefs are going to be without a group of receivers for some time, whether it be the rest of the season or the next few weeks. Rashee Rice is likely out for the year, Hollywood Brown still has a bit before he comes back, and JuJu Smith-Schuster is pretty banged up.
So, the Chiefs traded for DeAndre Hopkins from the Tennessee Titans. When the entire room is healthy, it’s probably the deepest room in the league. But, that’s a big when. For now, it’s just Hopkins and Zavier Worthy, mainly.
Those two alone are good enough to get this team to the playoffs, even if they miss a lose a few games along the way. The way the AFC West is looking, they can afford that. Based on the way the AFC is starting to look, they may not be able to afford that if they want to host the AFC Championship again.
Luckily for them, they can win it anywhere, as we saw last season.
But, with this move, the rest of the league still isn’t sold. I mean, the Chiefs have rivals out there, or former rivals, that are downplaying the move so much so that it’s laughable.

I mean both of those guys are great and having great seasons. But, when the Chiefs get their receivers healthy, no way that is happening. There will be too much going on in this offense for them to be “strapped.”
The Chiefs are getting the right pieces they need to get back to their dominant offensive ways. It’s only a matter of time. The Chiefs play the Raiders this week, and then they will go on to play the Tampa Bay Buccaneers before they play the Broncos. Then, they will play the Broncos again in the last week of the season after a game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
