Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay provided a significant hint on Cooper Kupp’s future with the team as trade rumors surrounding the superstar wide receiver continue to heat up.
Over the past few days, multiple reports have indicated that the Rams have made Cooper Kupp available with the Nov. 5 trade deadline approaching. But judging by McVay’s message to reporters after the game, the 31-year-old will not be available after all.
After missing the Rams’ previous five games with an ankle injury, Kupp returned to the field on Thursday night and helped LA to a 30-20 home win over the Minnesota Vikings. Just like that, the Rams are now 3-4 and just a game behind the Seattle Seahawks for tops in the NFC West.
Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, McVay strongly indicated in his post-game presser that Cooper Kupp will remain with the Rams past the trade deadline.
“I’m really glad to have Cooper Kupp back with us and I expect it to stay that way,” McVay said after the game.

Kupp finished the game with five receptions for 51 yards and a touchdown. Fellow star wide receiver Puka Nacua, who missed the previous six games with a knee injury, also returned on Thursday and caught seven passes for 106 yards.

The Rams started out 3-6 last season before closing out on a 7-1 run to qualify for the postseason. So who’s to doubt the ability of McVay’s group to perform a similar mid-season turnaround this year?
Rams Are Contenders With A Healthy Cooper Kupp
Kupp has missed considerable time the last three years with injuries. But when he’s on the field, it’s hard to find a better offensive nucleus than him, Nacua, Kyren Williams and Matthew Stafford.
The Rams nearly upset the Detroit Lions on the road in Week 1 with a healthy core, then defeated a dangerous Minnesota team in Week 8. As long as these four are on the field together, the Rams can compete for a Super Bowl.
