Dave Portnoy thinks there may be love in the air between one of Taylor Swift’s dancers and Travis Kelce’s friend.
While detailing the personal note Swift, 34, sent him at a recent Eras Tour show, Portnoy, 47, recalled meeting Kelce’s pal Ross Travis.
“I didn’t know Ross, he was there. I didn’t know who he was. People are freaking out about that,” Portnoy said on the Tuesday, October 22, episode of the “Taylor Watch” podcast, adding that he met Ross. “I asked him if he had been at a show before. He was like, ‘14.’ I think he came alone.”
Cohost Kelly Keegs explained to Portnoy that she had seen rumors that Ross is dating one of Swift’s dancers, but she didn’t know which one.
“I would guess he is because why else would you show up alone?” Portnoy replied. “I mean, I get you like Taylor Swift, but you’ve seen her 14 times and you show up alone in Miami? It’s a little weird, [so] that may be it.”
Ross has traveled to several Eras Tour shows alongside Kelce, 35, since the Kansas City Chiefs tight end began dating Swift in summer 2023. Ross and Kelce even made headlines in February when they showed up to one of her shows in matching, brightly colored two-piece outfits.
“We did not plan it,” Travis said of the look on his and brother Jason Kelce’s “New Heights” podcast in March. “I came downstairs from the hotel and I saw [Ross], and I was like, ‘Goddammit.’ We were like, ‘Can’t change now. We’re just going to have to eat this one.’”
Jason, 36, reassured his brother at the time that they “looked great.”
Months later, Ross was spotted in the VIP tent at the Saturday, October 19, Miami show alongside Taylor’s brother, Austin Swift — the same concert that Portnoy attended. One day later, Portnoy shared in an Instagram video that Austin, 32, “hand-delivered” a note to him at the show.
The note was written on personalized stationery that read, “From the desk of Taylor Swift.” Portnoy read the card aloud and said Taylor was referred to as a “songwriter and feline enthusiast.”
“Dave, I am so happy you are at the show tonight. I wanted to say thank you for always being so supportive, so loyal, for having my back when a lot of people didn’t,” the letter read. “I hope you have a blast tonight. Love, Taylor.”
Portnoy gushed over his experience at the show and explained that he made the video to counter reports that he was a “performative” fan.
“I had the time of my life, I can’t over how unbelievable Taylor is,” he said. “Performing three-and-a-half hours, day after day, flawless, perfect.”
