Patrick Mahomes’ bad statistical day against the San Francisco 49ers officially turned around at the beginning of the fourth quarter with a 1-yard rushing touchdown capped off by bodying a defensive back.
Mahomes lowered his shoulder as he crossed the goal line and collided with 49ers cornerback Malik Mustapha, sending him flying to the turf while Chiefs superstar stood tall.
Mahomes rarely has to show his repertoire in a Oklahoma drill of sorts. In basic fundamentals, the lower pad level wins and Mustapha got flattened onto his back.
The Chiefs bench was hyped with Mahomes walking back to the sidelines after showing off his strength.
Mahomes did have a running start but did have better form that led to the astonishing moment.
Mahomes did not throw a touchdown pass in the win, but he did throw two interceptions. Yet, he clearly outduels his counterpart, 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy.
The three-time Super Bowl winner had a critical 33-yard rush that set up his touchdown truck-stick.
Mahomes’ runs helped the Chiefs become the NFL’s lone remaining unbeaten team at 6-0.
Purdy’s three interceptions leveled the 49ers record to 3-4, a disappointing figure for one of the preseason favorites in the NFC.

The Chiefs will look to stay undefeated next week with a road game against the Las Vegas Raiders, who are 2-5.
The Raiders were the last team to beat Kansas City last December.
