But after the 2021 season, Pearsall entered the transfer portal, eventually heading to the University of Florida. Despite battling a foot injury during camp, he quickly became one of Florida’s top targets, posting 661 yards and five touchdowns in his first season.
By the time he declared for the 2024 NFL Draft, his smooth route running and ability to create separation had caught the eyes of NFL scouts everywhere. The 49ers selected him with the 31st overall pick, believing they’d found a game-changing receiver.

Over a month ago, an attempted robbery in San Francisco’s Union Square involved Pearsall, who was shot in the chest.
