VIDEO: Concerning Footage Surfaces Of The Incredibly Dangerous Field Conditions At Wembley Stadium For Jaguars-Patriots NFL London Game

A video of New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye slipping on the Wembley turf in London prompted concern ahead of Sunday’s first game.

The NFL is in the UK again this weekend, with the Pats and Jacksonville Jaguars facing off for an early game in the British capital.

Wembley, one of the most iconic venues in all of sports, is hosting the fixture. While it’s considered to be hallowed grounds in England, there was a bit of concern after Maye took a fall during warmups on Sunday morning.

“It’s a soggy field at Wembley for Pats-Jags today. Here’s a video @danval98 took for @WCVB of Drake Maye slipping on the wet grass during warm-ups,” The Athletic’s Chad Graff captioned the video shown below.

Fans Were Sounding Off After Drake Maye’s Slip

Social media had a bit to say following the slip.

“Unbelievable,” a fan wrote.

“multi billion dollar company still thinks this is acceptable,” another added.

However, other fans thought the QB was wearing the wrong cleats.

“Pats getting the excuses in early for their dogshit team. Hint: change your cleats,” someone suggested.

“Put on lingerie cleats and this doesn’t happen,” said a second.

The teams are no strangers to playing on turf in the UK, but it’s a first for the former UNC star.

The Pats were down 22-10 heading into halftime at the time of writing.
