The Utah Hockey Club is the newest franchise in the NHL, and it was a bittersweet opening when the team played in front of a sold-out arena and won against the Connor Bedard-led Chicago Blackhawks.
The bitter part was that the team was relocated from Arizona earlier this off-season after years of dysfunction; however, the team was finally looking like it would be successful in Arizona but was taken away from the city too early.
Either way, Utah Hockey Club is now the team we’re looking at. Therefore, they’re playing games in front of the fans in Utah, and it seems as though they’re enjoying having an NHL team in their state. It’s so much that fans have broken a record less than a week into the season.
During their opening game, the Delta Center held upwards of 16,000 fans, and there was no question they enjoyed the game and the concessions. According to the Salt Lake Tribune, the Beer sales hit a whopping $120,000, which is the most the Delta Center has ever seen.

The crazy news comes just weeks after the Hockey Club revealed its crazy low concession stand prices, which had other fans questioning their teams and asking them to do the same thing for their home games.
Fans could purchase the snacks and drinks for as low as two dollars, with things like Nachos, Hot Dogs, and even Ice Cream being priced at just $3. Compare that to double the price in most places with a team around the league.
Utah won’t return to the Delta Center until October 19th, when they are slated to play the Boston Bruins. The Bruins just signed goaltender Jeremy Swayman to a massive eight-year extension. Fans will definitely enjoy watching that barn burner.
