More details have emerged on the injury that has sidelined\u00a0San Francisco 49ers<\/a>\u00a0superstar running back and reigning rushing champion\u00a0Christian McCaffrey<\/a>\u00a0for the first four weeks of 2024 \u2014\u00a0with no clear timeline on a possible return.<\/p>\n Christian McCaffrey was placed on the injured reserve with a calf\/Achilles injury after the team\u2019s Week 1 win over the\u00a0New York Jets<\/a>. That meant \u201cRun CMC\u201d would have to miss at least four games, but he\u2019s nowhere closer to a return.<\/p>\n Speaking on the \u201c49ers Talk\u201d podcast, Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area reports that McCaffrey is\u00a0dealing with Achilles tendonitis<\/a>\u00a0in both legs. The injury can take weeks, and sometimes months, to recover from.<\/p>\n The good news for the 49ers is that Jordan Mason has embraced the expanded workload with Christian McCaffrey sidelined.
