According to Athens-Clarke County police, Harris was driving at 106 mph before his arrest.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/georgia-player-arrested-797dba60272b6f303cd1348202fdbff3\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Associated Press<\/a>\u00a0reports that the CB was charged with five misdemeanors and released around an hour later on $50 in bonds.<\/p>\n<p>Apart from the reckless driving charge, Harris was charged with having no proof of insurance, driving an unregistered vehicle, failing to wear his seatbelt, and illegally tinting his windows.<\/p>\n<p>The Athens Banner-Herald notes that Harris was stopped near the Georgia campus after he overtook two vehicles while driving 41 mph over the 65 mph speed limit.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Georgia CB Daniel Harris has been arrested for reckless driving, and other driving misdemeanors, per <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/On3sports?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@On3sports<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/Lt4CBLUlHA\">pic.twitter.com\/Lt4CBLUlHA<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 College Football Report (@CFBRep) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/CFBRep\/status\/1834636181373436116?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">September 13, 2024<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"h-georgia-football-players-have-been-difficult-to-rein-in-according-to-kirby-smart\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Georgia Football Players Have Been Difficult To Rein In, According To Kirby Smart<\/h2>\n<p>Bulldogs head coach Kirby Smart previously admitted that it\u2019s been a task getting his players to adhere to traffic laws.<\/p>\n<p>The school has been under the microscope since a fatal crash that claimed the lives of a player and a member of staff after the team celebrated a second consecutive national title in 2023. Over 25 players have been arrested for driving-related offenses since then, with six of them arrested this year alone.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cThe incidents that have been happening off the field are not something we condone,\u201d\u00a0<\/em>Smart said during SEC Media Days in July.<em>\u00a0\u201cIt\u2019s very unfortunate \u2014 disappointing I guess is the best word. I always talk about processing outcomes in wins and losses. We try not to base things on outcomes.
