In 2024,\u00a0Steve Kerr<\/a>\u00a0was the busiest coach as he guided Team USA to their fifth consecutive Olympic gold victory and has now joined his fellow Golden State Warriors staff to prepare for the upcoming season. Ahead of the 2024-25 regular season, Kerr believed the\u00a0Boston Celtics<\/a>\u00a0fans would be \u201call over him\u201d for benching their star player in the Olympics.<\/p>\n LeBron James, Stephen Curry, and Kevin Durant led Team USA to remain unbeaten in the Paris Olympics 2024 and conquered the home side, France, in the men\u2019s basketball final. However,\u00a0Celtics forward Jayson Tatum<\/a>, who won the\u00a0NBA<\/a>\u00a0championship a few weeks back, played for a limited time and even missed two matches in the Olympics.<\/p>\n Tatum and Indiana Pacers guard Tyrese Haliburton, who missed the Olympics final, were benched for both games against\u00a0Nikola Jokic<\/a>\u2019s Serbia in the opener and semi-final. Kerr called it a strategic decision. However, the Celtics fans took to social media and expressed their disappointment.<\/p>\n During an interview with\u00a0NBA.com<\/a>, the Warriors head coach was asked about benching Tatum and Haliburton. While praising the two stars, the 58-year-old said,\u00a0\u201cThose guys were all great. Jayson handled things so well. Then, obviously, it became a media subject, but he couldn\u2019t have handled it better. Tyrese, same thing. Every game was different.
