Baltimore Ravens<\/a>\u00a0star linebacker Kyle Van Noy blasted the\u00a0Kansas City Chiefs<\/a>\u00a0medical team for what he\u2019s calling \u201csuper unprofessional\u201d treatment for an eye injury he suffered in the NFL Kickoff Game at Arrowhead Stadium last week.<\/p>\n Kyle Van Noy suffered an orbital bone fracture in the third quarter of the season opener, a 27-20 Kansas City victory. And the veteran linebacker was far from pleased with the treatment he got from Kansas City\u2019s medical team.<\/p>\n Speaking on the latest edition of the \u201cMcCoy and Van Noy\u201d podcast that he co-hosts with former NFL star defensive tackle Gerald McCoy, Van Noy\u00a0stated that he waited<\/a>\u00a0\u201can entire quarter\u201d for the Chiefs to send over an ophthalmologist to examine his eye injury.<\/p>\n Van Noy called his injury \u201cmoderate but serious\u201d since it was eye-related, and he was baffled by the lack of \u201curgency\u201d on the Chiefs\u2019 end to get in a specialist:<\/p>\n \u201cI was disappointed in the way the training staff of the Chiefs handled the situation. When things like that hurt, you get hurt, especially something that could be serious like mine was, you\u2019re supposed to rely on the team\u2019s training staff or their doctors, and I was supposed to see an ophthalmologist, which is somebody who checks out eye performance, eye surgery, and they took an entire quarter to get down to talk to me in the locker room, which, to me, is unacceptable, because then you start thinking, What if I was trying to go back in the game?<\/p>\n What if I was really, really hurt? Mine happened to be moderate but it still was serious because it\u2019s the eye, and your expectation of someone to be down there as the training staff asks them to be down there, would have had some more urgency\u2026<\/p>\n I just feel like, as a player, people have that expectation of you being professional, handling business And in a time of need, I wanted that from them, and I felt like I didn\u2019t get it.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
