Former Michigan assistant Connor Stalions has landed a head coaching job despite the sign-stealing allegations that cost him his position with the Wolverines.<\/p>\n
Stalions, also the subject of a new Netflix documentary in which he tells his side of the story, is holding on at Detroit Mumford High School following the head coach suffering a mild stroke.<\/p>\n
William McMichael was hospitalized on August 30, one day after Detroit Mumford started their season with a loss to Thurston, and remained for three days. Stalions will coach the team against Hamady High School in Livonia, Michigan, this Friday.<\/p>\n
\u201cConnor is leading the team now,\u201d<\/em>\u00a0McMichael told\u00a0CBS Sports<\/a>\u00a0via text message.<\/p>\n The coach told the outlet he had no idea when he would return to work.<\/p>\n Stalions had been volunteering as a defensive coordinator for the Mustangs since Memorial Day. The school has only won four times in 26 outings since the start of the 2022 season, but he will hope to get his first W as a head coach this weekend.<\/p>\n Stalions is the focal point of the\u00a0NCAA<\/a>\u2019s sign-stealing investigation and stands accused of illegally scouting Michigan\u2019s opponents.
