Ava Phillips, 17, was last seen leaving\u00a0Angleton High School at around 10 am and getting into a white Toyota Corolla after not attending her fourth-period class.<\/p>\n
The teenager’s mother, Kailey Perez sounded the alarm after her car was found in the school parking lot with her phone, keys and backpack inside.<\/p>\n
Perez also told Sergeant Cory Budnick of the Angleton Police Department that it may be possible that Ava is with her boyfriend and headed to Austin, nearly 200 miles away.<\/p>\n

She later revealed to\u00a0Click2Houston<\/a>\u00a0that the young teenager had recently been ‘trying to distance herself from a boy who had been emotionally abusive towards her’.<\/p>\n
Perez also noted that she believes he may know her daughter’s current location but has refused to cooperate with the family or police.<\/p>\n
It remains unclear if the boyfriend is the same boy that Perez said was emotionally abusive to her daughter. Neither one of them have yet been identified by officials.<\/p>\n
‘She called me from a blocked number. She sounded scared and I don\u2019t think she\u2019s in control.<\/p>\n
‘She told me she\u2019d come home, but she hasn\u2019t. I just want her home safely. She sounds very scared.<\/p>\n

In a Facebook post, officials said that the brown-haired girl was seen wearing a gray crop top, black sweatpants, slippers and in a braid<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
