During the Chiefs\u2019 journey to becoming back-to-back Super Bowl champions, tight end Travis Kelce\u2018s romance with Taylor Swift took the world by storm.<\/p>\n<p>Last month, the Hallmark channel announced production for the movie,\u00a0<em>Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story<\/em>, starring Hunter King and Tyler Hynes. The Christmas movie, which already started production in Kansas City, Missouri, is not based on Kelce and Swift\u2019s relationship.<\/p>\n<div id=\"qcmgidgb\"><\/div>\n<p>However, in an exclusive interview with Heavy Sports at the 2024 ESPYs, Hynes credited the immense popularity surrounding the famous couple for fast-tracking the movie, along with the viral success of the \u201cFalling for Football\u201d postseason commercial, which he also starred in.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe whole thing happened pretty quick,\u201d Hynes, 38, said. \u201cBecause of this sudden spark that was lit with the postseason commercial we shot last season. And since that moment, that\u2019s when the conversations really began to happen. And here we are.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>At the same time, Kelce and Swift appear to be living out a rom-com in real life. \u201cWe love them. Their love story has obviously ignited a big reaction in all the different sort of fandoms around the world,\u201d Hynes continued. \u201cI think it\u2019s just the kind of perfect timing for all the above. Hallmark being what is, Chiefs being who they are, Trav and Taylor being so in love. We\u2019re all here for it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-553\" src=\"https:\/\/usdailys.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/06.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"291\" \/><\/p>\n<p>As for the viral reaction to the movie\u2019s announcement, \u201cI knew that it was going to be hit,\u201d King, 30, said. \u201cBut to just see the amount of excitement, and how excited people were to share the news, it was really touching to us.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2>Hunter King &amp; Tyler Hynes Teased More Chiefs Cameos Will Soon Be Announced<\/h2>\n<p>Hynes and King were tight-lipped about the surprise cameos in\u00a0<em>Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story<\/em>, directed by John Putch. The movie also stars Ed Begley Jr. Christine Ebersol, Megyn Price, and Richard Riehle, while \u201cToday Show\u201d host Jenna Bush Hager\u00a0will also appear in her first acting gig.<\/p>\n<p>Numerous Chiefs players will make cameos, but \u201cthere are some others that have not been announced yet,\u201d King teased. \u201cThere are fun ones coming up that we\u2019re excited bout.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Chiefs already announced that head coach Andy Reid, right guard Trey Smith, wide receiver Mecole Hardman, running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire, and defensive end George Karlaftis are set to make appearances.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-554\" src=\"https:\/\/usdailys.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/006.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"206\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Hallmark Channel announced Donna Kelce, Kelce\u2019s mother, will appear in the movie on July 13. While her son also ventured into acting this offseason, Ryan Murphy cast Kelce in his FX series, \u201cGrotesquerie,\u201d it\u2019s unclear if he, or Swift, will join Donna in the Hallmark movie.<\/p>\n<p>With such a diverse cast, \u201cWe\u2019re seeing a lot of people converge on both sides who you wouldn\u2019t think were either fans of football, or fans of romance,\u201d Hynes told Heavy Sports, \u201ccoming out of their shells and really voicing how excited they are that they have something that they can call their own, and be a part of something new.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this month, Hynes shared a behind-the-scenes look at the movie\u2019s shoot on Instagram. He captioned the post, \u201cThere\u2019s been some absolutely lovely individuals making every step of these journeys unforgettable. To the incredible folks thus far, thank you for every moment. To everyone who\u2019s reactions to these adventures has made it a party, \ud83d\ude4f\ud83c\udffb\ud83e\udd0d\ud83d\ude0a. and to the new friends, here\u2019s to you \ud83e\udd43. This next one will be interesting :).\u201d<\/p>\n<h2>The Premise of \u2018Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story\u2019<\/h2>\n<p>The Hallmark Channel shared the plot of\u00a0<em>Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story<\/em>\u00a0in a June 25 press release:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>In \u2018Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story\u2019, Alana Higman (King) is sure that her family\u2019s lifelong history as Kansas City Chiefs superfans makes them a frontrunner to win the team\u2019s \u201cFan of the Year\u201d contest. Derrick (Hynes), Director of Fan Engagement, is tasked with evaluating how Alana and her family stack up against the other two finalists. As the pair spends time together, it\u2019s clear there\u2019s a spark between them but when her grandfathers (Begley Jr.) vintage Chiefs, good luck winter hat goes missing, Alana begins to doubt everything she believed about fate, destiny and even questions her future with Derrick \u2013 unless, that is, a little Christmas magic can throw a Hail Mary.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The movie, produced in partnership with the NFL and Skydance Media, does not have a premiere date but will air later this year as part of the Hallmark Channel\u2019s Countdown to Christmas.<\/p>\n<p>Emily Bicks covers the NFL for Heavy.com, with a focus on the Bills, Seahawks and Chiefs.
