In addition to his remarkable basketball career, O\u2019Neal,\u00a0who was recently praised<\/a>\u00a0by Gilbert Arenas, has also found success in the entertainment industry. As a DJ and NBA analyst, he has entertained his fans for years.<\/p>\n

In a\u00a0recent interview with People<\/a>, DJ Diesel mentioned that his career as a DJ saved him from feeling lost after retiring from the NBA. O\u2019Neal clarified that he began his career as a DJ because it provided him with the same rush of excitement as a championship game.<\/p>\n

\u201cI started DJing because it gave me the same adrenaline boost that a championship game would give me. I was lost because I had planned to retire two years after I retired. So I wasn\u2019t really prepared. I\u2019ve been playing since I was 14 years old and always had that step into the arena feeling of the game. I always had that hour and a half or so. And when I stopped playing, I didn\u2019t have that.\u201d<\/em>\u00a0O\u2019Neal said.<\/p>\n

Following his retirement from the NBA, O\u2019Neal released four studio albums, two compilation albums, two soundtracks, one unreleased album, and 19 singles.<\/p>\n

Shaq has expressed that it\u2019s a blessing for him to still be working because he believes that he won\u2019t be able to do it one day.<\/p>\n

\u201cI went to this concert, and I got the same feeling again. I was like, \u2018You know what? And I used to do this. Lemme see if I can pick it up again. So yeah, it\u2019s fun, but it only lasts an hour and a half. I know a lot of people in my position don\u2019t have anything going on, they just wake up and are lost. So the fact that I\u2019m working, it\u2019s a blessing. So any job I can get, I\u2019ll just continue to do because one day I\u2019ll be in that position where I won\u2019t be able to do it anymore.\u201d<\/em>\u00a0O\u2019Neal added.<\/p>\n
