She set the league record for consecutive games with a double-double (14), a historic streak that\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2024\/07\/13\/sports\/angel-reeses-record-wnba-double-double-streak-ends-vs-liberty\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ended<\/a>\u00a0in Saturday\u2019s loss to the\u00a0<a class=\"mai-link-injected\" href=\"https:\/\/www.totalprosports.com\/wnba\/new-york-liberty\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">New York Liberty<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>On X\/Twitter, veteran sportswriter\u00a0<a class=\"mai-link-injected\" href=\"https:\/\/www.totalprosports.com\/tag\/jason-whitlock\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jason Whitlock<\/a>\u00a0pushed back against the notion that Reese should be in the discussions for Rookie of the Year honors with Caitlin Clark, the overwhelming favorite to win the award.<\/p>\n<p>In a blistering tweet, Whitlock stated Angel Reese is \u201ctoo unskilled offensively\u201d, struggles with her layups and isn\u2019t All-Star-caliber. Whitlock ended his take by stating that the LSU legend is \u201cbeing used as a gimmick to diminish Clark.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Never again.
