The beloved actor Patrick Muldoon has died. Muldoon first played Austin Reed on\u00a0Days of Our Lives,<\/em>\u00a0a role he held from 1992 to 1995 and reprised from 2011 to 2012.<\/p>\n

He also appeared on\u00a0Melrose Place<\/em>\u00a0as the villain Richard Hart from seasons 3 to 5, and acted in many TV movies throughout the late 1990s and 2000s. In film, Muldoon is known for playing Zander Barcalow in the 1997 sci-fi movie Starship Troopers, directed by Paul Verhoeven.<\/p>\n

His latest film, a crime thriller called Dirty Hands, is expected to be released later this year. Muldoon has also worked as an executive producer on several films, including\u00a0The Tribes of Palos Verdes<\/em>,\u00a0Arkansas<\/em>,\u00a0Marlowe<\/em>,\u00a0The Card Counter<\/em>,The Dreadful<\/em>, and\u00a0Riff Raff<\/em>.<\/p>\n

More recently, he has been involved in\u00a0Kockroach<\/em>, which stars Chris Hemsworth, Taron Egerton, and Zazie Beetz and is currently in production.<\/p>\n

Patrick Muldon is survived by his partner, Miriam Rothbart; parents Deanna and Patrick Muldoon, Sr.; sister and brother-in-law Shana and Ahmet Zappa, niece Halo, and nephew Arrow Zappa. He was only 57 at the time of his death.<\/p>\n

The cause of death was a heart attack, and Patrick was not alone in getting one. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, a person gets a heart attack every 40th second in the U.S. More than 800,000 people\u00a0have a heart attack<\/em>\u00a0each year in the U.S.<\/p>\n

While it can be difficult to feel beforehand, there are several symptoms one should be aware of in the case of a heart attack.<\/p>\n

The American Association of Retired Persons<\/a>\u00a0(AARP) has spoken to several people who\u2019ve had a heart attack and survived. They were asked to describe their symptoms.<\/p>\n

For example, 60-year-old Bill Schaffer, 60, from New Jersey, explained that he experienced pain in his back when c\u00f6limibng stair prior to his heart attack. One day, he felt \u201csweaty without sweating,\u201d and \u201cfeverish without a fever.\u201d<\/p>\n

As he sat down to have dinner, Bill started to experience indigestion. He felt his heart was \u201ccrushed,\u201d and his wife called 911.<\/p>\n

Another person, 66-year-old Susan Madero from Los Angeles, said she had \u201cthe sensation of a very large person sitting on her chest.\u201d She felt a shortness of breath and a tightening in her ribs. Moreover, Susan also experienced pain in her right shoulder, her arm, her neck, and up her jaw.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you have any of these signs and are concerned, call your physician or healthcare provider,\u201d Dr. Tamis-Holland said.<\/p>\n

Jacqueline\u00a0Tamis<\/em>\u2013Holland<\/em>, a cardiologist at\u00a0Cleveland Clinic<\/a>, explained how your response to a\u00a0heart attack<\/em>\u00a0can mean the difference between life and death. Firstly, if you think you\u2019re having a heart attack, you should always call 911.<\/p>\n

Tamis-Holland explained how some people have a period of \u201cwaxing and waning\u201d symptoms before a heart attack. They include:<\/p>\n

Dr. Tamis-Holland added, \u201cSome people have chest discomfort that goes away and then comes back. The feeling might last five minutes or 10 minutes. But because it\u2019s not intense or severe, and it goes away, they don\u2019t call their provider. Some people just feel really tired in the weeks before.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cDoomed feeling\u201d<\/h2>\n

Another expert, Dr. Leslie Cho, told the\u00a0Cleveland Clinic<\/a>\u00a0that many complain of \u201cchest pressure or chest tightness.\u201d<\/p>\n

She continued, \u201cMost people will say they feel like someone is sitting on their chest. It\u2019s very oppressive. They feel this sort of doomed feeling.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cMost people will say like 70 percent of people will say they feel like somebody\u2019s just sitting on their chest. It feels very oppressive. They feel like this sort of doomed feeling, something horrible is happening,\u201d Dr. Leslie Cho said.<\/p>\n
