Chris Payton-Jones sadly passed away\u00a0in a car accident<\/a>\u00a0last Saturday. He was more known for his time with the\u00a0Nebraska Cornhuskers<\/a>\u00a0in college football.<\/p>\n

\u201cChris Payton-Jones, a former football star at Sandalwood High School who went on to play professionally and later returned to Jacksonville to become a mentor and successful content creator, passed away in an auto accident on Saturday night. Jones was 30 years old,\u201d<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0News 4 Jacksonville reported.<\/p>\n

Payton-Jones\u2019 sister, Clotea, told The U.S. Sun that her brother had\u00a0just welcomed his daughter<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat was my brother, my only blood brother, same momma, same daddy,\u201d<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0a heartbroken Jones said.\u00a0\u201cI\u2019m devastated. I\u2019m hurt. My brother is gone. I cannot even cope with the pain.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cHe was excited about where he was in life, working with kids and the birth of his daughter. His daughter was born 3 weeks before he passed. He was just excited about being a father.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Payton-Jones played 29 games with the Arizona Cardinals, Detroit Lions,\u00a0Minnesota Vikings<\/a>, and\u00a0Tennessee Titans<\/a>\u00a0from 2018 through 2021. He then played in the XFL and the UFL.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
