The fatal shooting of 37-year-old Renee Nicole Good by an ICE agent in Minneapolis has sparked outrage across the United States.<\/p>\n

At the same time, many are trying to understand what actually happened \u2014 and one key detail in the videos circulating online may help provide answers.<\/p>\n

Renee Nicole Good, 37, was killed on Wednesday during a confrontation with federal immigration officers.<\/p>\n

Although the full circumstances of her death remain under investigation, the Department of Homeland Security alleged that she had \u201cweaponized her vehicle,\u201d going so far as to label the incident \u201can act of domestic terrorism\u201d \u2014 a characterization later echoed by President Trump.<\/p>\n

But part of the incident caught on video now tells a very different story than the federal account, according to some. Rather than showing a deliberate attack, many viewers interpret it as Good trying to flee while agents surrounded her vehicle.<\/p>\n

In the clip circulating online, an ICE officer is seen attempting to open Good\u2019s car door. Moments later, Good reverses, sharply turns her wheels, and tries to drive away. Another officer stands in front of the SUV \u2014 but the vehicle\u2019s tires are visibly angled away from him.<\/p>\n

Looking at the wheels
\nAs the SUV begins moving, it clips the officer without knocking him down. Almost immediately, the officer fires one shot through the windshield, followed by at least two more through the driver\u2019s side window as Good continues to flee. Her vehicle then careens roughly 100 feet before crashing into a parked white car.<\/p>\n

The entire encounter unfolds in less than 10 seconds.<\/p>\n

As the video spread, public reaction has been swift and furious. Many viewers say the footage shows panic and flight \u2014 not intent to harm.<\/p>\n

One commenter wrote:
\n\u201cMurder. Plain and simple. There are times we can no longer stay silent. This is the time. This is murder.\u201d<\/p>\n

Another said:
\n\u201cThat wasn\u2019t self defence. That was retaliation\/anger that she was getting away. They should all prosecuted.\u201d<\/p>\n

Officials and lawmakers condemn ICE
\nProminent officials have openly rejected the federal government\u2019s explanation.<\/p>\n

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez called the shooting \u201ca public murder,\u201d saying:
\n\u201cWhat we saw today was a criminal murder a woman and shoot her in the head while she was trying to escape and flee for her life.\u201d<\/p>\n

She described the killing as \u201cthe manifestation of every American\u2019s worst nightmare.\u201d<\/p>\n

Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey delivered one of the strongest rebukes, telling ICE to leave the city entirely.<\/p>\n

\u201cTo ICE, get the f*** out of Minneapolis,\u201d Frey said. \u201cThey are not here to cause safety in this city\u2026 They\u2019re ripping families apart. They\u2019re sowing chaos on our streets and in this case quite literally killing people.\u201d<\/p>\n

Addressing the self-defense claim directly, Frey added:
\n\u201cThey are already trying to spin this as an action of self defense. Having seen the video myself, I wanna tell everybody directly, that is bullsh*t.\u201d<\/p>\n

A mother of three
\nGood\u2019s family and neighbors say the government\u2019s portrayal bears no resemblance to the woman they knew.<\/p>\n

Her mother, Donna Ganger, described her daughter as deeply compassionate.
\n\u201cShe was extremely compassionate. She\u2019s taken care of people all her life. She was loving, forgiving and affectionate,\u201d Ganger said, adding, \u201cShe was probably terrified.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ganger called her daughter \u201can amazing human being\u201d and \u201cone of the kindest people I\u2019ve ever known.\u201d<\/p>\n

Good was a poet, writer, and mother of three. Just hours before she was killed, she had dropped off her youngest child at an elementary school in Minneapolis \u2014 a city the family had only recently moved to from Kansas City, Missouri.<\/p>\n

Far from being \u201cthe worst of the worst\u201d criminals referenced in President Donald Trump\u2019s immigration crackdown, Good was a U.S. citizen born in Colorado with no criminal history beyond a single traffic ticket.<\/p>\n

The note on her door
\nIn the aftermath of the shooting, neighbors placed flowers and signs near the crash site. One handwritten message on a nearby door read: \u201cNO MEDIA INQUIRES\u201d and \u201cJUSTICE FOR RENEE,\u201d according to AP.<\/p>\n

A video recorded moments after the shooting shows a distraught woman crying near the wrecked SUV, wailing: \u201cThat\u2019s my wife, I don\u2019t know what to do!\u201d<\/p>\n

Good\u2019s ex-husband said she was not an activist and had never participated in protests. Friends and former teachers recalled her as gentle, creative, and outwardly focused \u2014 someone who cared deeply for others.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe was incredibly caring of her peers,\u201d said Kent Wascom, a former writing instructor. \u201cHer presence was something that helped make that classroom a really supportive place.\u201d<\/p>\n

Vice President JD Vance has stated that the ICE agent involved in the fatal shooting of 37-year-old Renee Nicole Good in Minnesota will not face charges.<\/p>\n

ICE agent has \u2018absolute immunity\u2019
\nSpeaking to reporters on Thursday, Vance said the agent has \u201cabsolute immunity\u201d in connection with the death.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe was doing his job,\u201d Vance said.<\/p>\n

He added, \u201cThe idea that Tim Walz and a bunch of radicals are going to go after and make this guy\u2019s life miserable because he was doing the job that he was asked to do is preposterous.\u201d<\/p>\n

During the briefing, a reporter questioned Vance about Minnesota\u2019s investigative agency claiming that the U.S. attorney\u2019s office had \u201cessentially cut off\u201d the state\u2019s access to the case, asking what precedent exists for such a restriction.<\/p>\n

Vance quickly responded: \u201dFirst of all, I wish the state officials in Minnesota would investigate why you have so many people who are using their vehicles and other means to actually interfere with a legitimate law enforcement operation.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201dThe precedent here is very simple,\u201d he continued. \u201dYou have a federal law enforcement official engaging in federal law enforcement action. That\u2019s a federal issue.<\/p>\n

\u201dThat guy is protected by absolute immunity,\u201d Vance commented. \u201dI\u2019ve never seen anything like that. It would get tossed out by a judge.\u201d<\/p>\n
