Following an interaction with ICE, 37-year-old woman Renee Nicole Good was shot and killed in an incident that has been called \u2018preventable\u2019.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers have now been operating in Minneapolis as part of the White House\u2019s brutal crack down, but one interaction ended up turning deadly on January 7.<\/p>\n

Following news of\u00a0Renee Nicole Good\u2019s death<\/a>, the Department of Homeland Security claimed that the woman \u2018weaponized her vehicle\u2019 against the officers and went as far to brand the incident an \u2018act of domestic terrorism.\u2019<\/p>\n

However, this rhetoric and version of events is currently being heavily scrutinized and argued against.<\/p>\n

Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey has said that the ICE officer who shot and killed the motorist acted recklessly and\u00a0rejected federal officials’ claims<\/a>\u00a0that the officer had acted in self-defense.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Renee’s mother Donna Ganger described her as ‘one of the kindest people I’ve ever known’ in an interview\u00a0with<\/a>\u00a0the Minnesota Star Tribune.<\/p>\n

Donna said Renee, who herself is a mom of three, was not an anti-ICE protestor, adding: “She was extremely compassionate. She\u2019s taken care of people all her life.”<\/p>\n

She also said Renee’s six-year-old son now had ‘no one else in his life’ aside his grandmother.<\/p>\n

Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem has since spoken at a press conference following the incident that resulted in Good\u2019s death.<\/p>\n

Speaking alongside\u00a0US<\/a>\u00a0Customs and Border Protection Commander Gregory Bovino, she said that Good\u2019s death was \u2018preventable\u2019 but went on to defend the use of force by the agents.<\/p>\n

Noem said: \u201cAny loss of life is a tragedy and I think all of us can agree that, in this situation, it was preventable.\u201d<\/p>\n

She also took issue with Frey\u2019s comments and said: \u201cHe doesn’t know what he’s talking about.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt’s very clear that this individual was harassing and impeding law enforcement operations. This officer followed his training, did exactly what he’s been taught to do in that situation.”<\/p>\n

A video of the shooting has now begun circulating on\u00a0social media<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Donald Trump<\/a>\u00a0has even\u00a0taken to Truth Social\u00a0<\/a>to address the situation.<\/p>\n

Trump said: \u201cI have just viewed the clip of the event which took place in Minneapolis,\u00a0Minnesota<\/a>. It is a horrible thing to watch.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe woman screaming was, obviously, a professional agitator, and the woman driving the car was very disorderly, obstructing and resisting, who then violently, willfully, and viciously ran over the ICE Officer, who seems to have shot her in self defense.”<\/p>\n

However, Mayor Frey said: \u201cHaving seen the video myself, I want to tell everybody directly, that is bulls**t.<\/p>\n

“This was an agent recklessly using power that resulted in somebody dying, getting killed.”<\/p>\n

In a press conference he also demanded that ICE \u2018get the f*** out of Minneapolis.<\/p>\n

He added: \u201cThey are not here to cause safety in this city. What they are doing is not to provide safety in America. What they are doing is causing chaos and distrust.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
