“For my whole life, I have tried to be good, to be a good student and a good sister and a good daughter, and to protect my mother and never make her upset or angry,” she wrote<\/a>. “Now I have added a new tragedy to her life, to our family’s life, and there’s nothing I can do to stop it.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Eventually, the cancer returned<\/strong>. Her doctors had actually warned that it could happen. And it did.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Then came another relapse. She underwent a second transplant. Remission came again. Then another relapse. Her body had begun to waste away<\/strong> from the relentless battle<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

During her final trial, her doctor gave her the harshest truth<\/strong> yet. With continued treatments, she might survive another year, but only under the same brutal conditions. Her daughter had barely had time with her at all.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
