A successful Olympian was found deceased in her apartment as the world is reeling over the details of how Daniela Larreal Chirinos passed away.<\/p>\n

The 50-year-old, who made her name as a cyclist, reportedly had co-workers worried once she failed to show up for a shift at the hotel where she worked.<\/p>\n

The authorities were called, and they headed to Daniela Larreal Chirinos\u2019 apartment in Las Vegas on Friday.<\/p>\n

That is when officers discovered Daniela Larreal Chirinos body.<\/p>\n

It is thought she may have been dead since Sunday, which was August 11th. Her colleagues contacted authorities on Monday, August 12th.<\/p>\n

Sources close to the investigation say Daniela Larreal Chirinos died from asphyxiation,\u00a0The Mirror\u00a0<\/a>reported. The post-mortem reportedly found food in her windpipe, suggesting she died from choking.<\/p>\n

The Clark County Office of the Coroner has not officially released a cause and manner of death.<\/p>\n

A leading figure in the world of Venezuelan cycling, Daniela Larreal Chirinos, has broken many hearts with her sudden and tragic death.<\/p>\n

Chirinos is widely known for participating in the speed cycling event in five Olympic Games, most recently in London in 2012.<\/p>\n

She also competed in the Summer Games in Barcelona in 1992, Atlanta in 1996, Sydney in 2000, and Athens in 2004.<\/p>\n

Despite not winning medals at the Olympics, the Venezuelan cyclist won several times at South American games, Pan-American competitions, and Cycling World Cups.<\/p>\n

According to\u00a0Wikipedia<\/a>, Daniela Larreal Chirinos won a silver medal at the 1990 Central American Games in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, and two more silvers at the 2003 Pan American Games in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.<\/p>\n

She also added three golds and a silver at the 2002 Central American and Caribbean Games in El Salvador.<\/p>\n
