After the LA Dodgers won the 2025 World Series at the start of November 2025,\u00a0Jason Kelce\u00a0slammed the MLB, drawing the team\u2019s president to clap back. On his New Heights podcast with his brother, Travis Kelce, he said baseball is suffering because teams just buy championships. Stan Kasten, the Dodgers\u2019 president and co-owner, issued a response to Kelce\u2019s criticism during a podcast appearance.<\/p>\n

LA Dodgers president and co-owner Stan Kasten recently appeared on the baseball podcast\u00a0The Windup<\/a>. During the November 12 episode, hosts Jayson Stark & Doug Glanville spoke to Kasten about the LA Dodgers\u2019 recent World Series win. As they discussed the team\u2019s success, the hosts asked Kasten for his thoughts on Jason Kelce\u2019s comments about baseball and the LA Dodgers winning the 2025 World Series.<\/p>\n

Speaking of the Dodgers winning, Kelce said on his New Heights podcast on November 6, \u201cWell, yeah, that\u2019s why baseball sucks! You just buy World Series championships. It\u2019s the dumbest thing in the world.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kasten responded to this saying, \u201cFirst of all, history demonstrates that\u2019s not true because usually, the team with the highest payroll doesn\u2019t win the World Series. So I hate to throw facts at him, but I will throw one quote from someone in his city, and that\u2019s Bryce Harper, who said the only people complaining are losers. I think he\u2019s exactly right.\u201d<\/p>\n

Further he went on to defend the Dodgers\u2019 success, explaining, \u201cWhat got us to the position we\u2019re in, the position of being able to have lost the World Series, at any point in the World Series, [in] 20 different ways was because, yes, we had a high payroll, but those people need to be led and developed, and we need to be backed up by a farm system that is productive year in, year out.\u201d<\/p>\n
