Reactions to the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump were swift and resounding, with a near-unanimous consensus declaring that the violence and vitriol have gotten out of hand.\u00a0Colorado House Speaker Julie McCluskie called the situation \u201cdeeply disturbing,\u201d adding that \u201cthere is no room for violence in our political process.\u201d\u00a0Josh Shapiro, the\u00a0Democratic Governor of Pennsylvania, called the shooting \u201cabsolutely unacceptable,\u201d dubbing the moment \u201cpainful and shocking\u201d before urging Americans to stand firmly against violence.<\/p>\n

Former Presidents Barack Obama and George W. Many agreed that the situation was dire<\/h1>\n

Politicians weren\u2019t the only ones to speak out following that assassination attempt against former President Donald Trump. While there are reports of at least one casualty, a social media user took to X to say they are grateful things didn\u2019t turn out worse. \u201cThere is no place for this kind of political violence. No matter political affiliation, I think we can all agree that this is a sad and unacceptable situation. It\u2019s unreal how close it came to an even worse end,\u201d they shared. Another\u00a0declared, \u201cPreventing events like this and working to end gun violence should also be bipartisan.\u201d A third\u00a0added: \u201cWe need to end the divisiveness and animosity for the sake of a united America.\u201d<\/p>\n
