{"id":4335,"date":"2024-08-16T02:22:47","date_gmt":"2024-08-16T02:22:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/usdailys.com\/?p=4335"},"modified":"2024-08-16T02:22:47","modified_gmt":"2024-08-16T02:22:47","slug":"canadian-pole-vaulter-alysha-newman-explains-what-her-olympics-twerking-celebration-was-truly-about","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/usdailys.com\/?p=4335","title":{"rendered":"Canadian Pole Vaulter Alysha Newman Explains What Her Olympics Twerking Celebration Was Truly About"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Canadian pole vaulter Alysha Newman took home the bronze medal at the Olympics in Paris but she may as well been the Gold medal winner for her twerking skills since no one even remembers who came in first or second place ahead of her in her event due to her actions.<\/p>\n<p>Newman\u2019s celebration dance after her record-breaking vault made headlines, and she gained thousands of new fans and money as a result.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">DIFFERENT ANGLE:<\/p>\n<p>Alysha Newman twerking at the Olympics in Paris today after the Canadian jumps 4.85 m <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/3XpTBYitgi\">pic.twitter.com\/3XpTBYitgi<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Dutch_Investor (@cryptostonk2) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/cryptostonk2\/status\/1821406559705973022?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">August 8, 2024<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>The 30-year-old athlete told her side of the story in a new interview with The New York Post.<\/p>\n<p>Alysha Newman finally revealed that she started twerking over the fact that she broke a Canadian record in women\u2019s pole vaulting during Paris 2024.<\/p>\n<p>Newman told the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">New York Post:\u00a0<\/a>\u201cA lot of people think I broke out in the dance because of the bronze medal, but again, I didn\u2019t know I had bronze, Angelica [Moser] from Switzerland still had another attempt, she could have easily taken my spot.<\/p>\n<section class=\"wp-block-group check-this-out has-xs-padding-top has-sm-padding-bottom\" data-content-name=\"Check This Out\" data-track-content=\"\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-nowrap is-layout-flex wp-container-core-group-is-layout-8 wp-block-group-is-layout-flex has-xl-margin-bottom\">\n<p>\u201cIf you know me for these many years, I\u2019ve always celebrated after a Canadian record.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo I had just jumped with the 4.85 [m] jump, I jumped a Canadian record, and in the past, at every single competition I\u2019ve ever jumped, I\u2019ve backflipped, I\u2019ve danced, I\u2019ve done any sort of thing that comes out naturally.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The video above shows Newman also faking a hamstring injury after her record jump.<\/p>\n<p>That was actually a shot to her critics, who had been slamming her long injury record, which included knee and ankle problems as well as a concussion.<\/p>\n<p>Ashley Newman added: \u201c[It\u2019s] If Alysha can stay healthy, then she can win a medal.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>\u201cI think for me to have faked an injury and then danced after, obviously everyone called it a twerk, but I\u2019m laughing cause I probably didn\u2019t do a great twerking compared to some of the women and men that can do it better than me.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut it just came out with more of the faking of the injury was more of the plan, rather than the actual twerking, so I laugh because, obviously, it got out there, and I\u2019m more than fortunate that people got to see another side of me.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The Canadian star may be 30-years-old, but she still has her eyes set on the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles.<\/p>\n<p>In the meantime, she will be puting in work on her OnlyFans.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"h-bronze-medalist-alysha-newman-gains-thousands-of-new-subscribers-due-to-twerking-skills\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Bronze Medalist Alysha Newman Gains Thousands of New Subscribers Due To Twerking Skills<\/h2>\n<p>Canadian Olympic pole vaulter Alysha Newman drew plenty of eyes and attention during the Paris Games when she twerked after securing the bronze medal.<\/p>\n<p>The 30-year-old Ontario native saw a huge surge in traffic on her OnlyFans page.<\/p>\n<p>In an interview, she told The Daily Mail that she has gained over 20,000 subscribers and counting.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI would say, even Instagram, I would say ten times more than the previous month,\u201d she said of her follower count. \u201cIt\u2019s quite insane.
