An NFL star can be seen fighting for his life in the street after he was shot outside a Manhattan restaurant.<\/p>\n

New York Jets<\/a> cornerback Kris Boyd\u00a0was<\/a>\u00a0hit in the abdomen\u00a0<\/a>in the shocking incident, which took place\u00a0outside Sei Less in Midtown just after 2am on Sunday morning.<\/span><\/p>\n

The shooting is said to have occurred after a verbal dispute escalated, resulting in a gunman firing two shots.\u00a0The chaotic aftermath was captured by Leeroy Johnson.<\/span><\/p>\n

Police could be seen surrounding Boyd as he lay in the street.\u00a0Later on, officers were filmed treating the Jets star before he was put on a stretcher and wheeled into an ambulance.<\/span><\/p>\n

The area was cordoned off after Boyd\u00a0was rushed to Bellevue Hospital. Cops revealed that he was in a critical but stable condition. L<\/span>ater on Sunday, however, one of the cornerback’s friends told the New York Post: ‘He’s all good right now. He’s in good condition. He’s doing real good.’\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Ernest Quander, who grew close to Boyd during the cornerback’s time at the University of Texas, added: ‘He’s a soldier, through tough times… he’s fine. He’s fine.’<\/span><\/p>\n

Boyd signed with the Jets in free agency in March after playing with the Houston Texans<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Johnson also\u00a0claimed on social media<\/a>\u00a0that Boyd’s teammate Irvin Charles ‘repeatedly threatened me, got in my face and grabbed my phone’ as he reported from the scene. The Daily Mail reached out to representatives of Charles for comment.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Sei Less, an Asian fusion restaurant, is a favorite hotspot of celebrities including Cardi B, 50 Cent, Kevin Hart and Mark Wahlberg.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

It’s claimed that two luxury cars \u2013 one of which is believed to have been carrying the gunman \u2013 fled the scene. Several of Boyd’s teammates sent well wishes to the cornerback in the wake of the shocking attack.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

‘Everybody please send prayers to my brother and teammate Kris Boyd and his family!!!’ defensive end Jermaine Johnson wrote on social media.<\/p>\n

‘Lord please hold your healing hand over Kris and guide him back to health and safety. Lord I ask that you please just get him through this safely. In your name, Amen.’<\/p>\n

Defensive tackle Harrison Phillips posted his own message to social media. ‘Father God, we come to you right now, asking for your healing power over KB,’ he wrote.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

‘You are a God of miracles. Lord, place your mighty hand on him as he fights lord God. Guide every doctor, nurse, and surgeon who touches him lord. Give his family strength! Kris is a fighter and we’re all here for him.’<\/span><\/p>\n

The Daily Mail reached out to Sei Less – which is on<\/span>\u00a0West 38th Street near Seventh Avenue –\u00a0for comment.<\/span><\/p>\n

There have been no arrests and the investigation is ongoing. Police say they are looking for a man who fled in a blue BMW in connection to the shooting.<\/p>\n

‘We are aware of the situation involving Kris Boyd and will have no further comment at this time,’ the Jets said in a brief statement after news of the shooting broke.<\/p>\n

Boyd is in his first season with the Jets after he signed with them in free agency in March.<\/p>\n

The Texas native, who has earned more than $8 million in his career, signed a $1.6 million contract with Gang Green, according to Spotrac.com.<\/p>\n

Boyd has not played this season after going on the season-ending injured reserve list in August\u00a0with a shoulder injury that required surgery to repair.<\/p>\n

He had suited up for the Houston Texans over the past two seasons. He also enjoyed a stint with the Arizona Cardinals after being drafted by the Minnesota Vikings in the 2019 NFL Draft.<\/p>\n
