Jennifer Lawrence has revealed why she chooses not to speak out against US President Donald Trump anymore.<\/p>\n

In the past,\u00a0Lawrence<\/a>\u00a0has been pretty open about her political standpoints.<\/p>\n

Back in 2015, she described\u00a0Trump<\/a>‘s presidency as ‘the end of the world’, before later endorsing Joe Biden in 2020, followed by\u00a0Kamala Harris<\/a>\u00a0in 2024.<\/p>\n

“I’m voting for Kamala Harris because I think she’s an amazing candidate and I know that she will do whatever she can to protect reproductive rights,” she\u00a0told<\/a>\u00a0PEOPLE at the time.<\/p>\n

Lawrence wasn’t the only A-list star to back Harris. For example,\u00a0Taylor Swift<\/a>\u00a0also endorsed the Democrat, telling her followers: “I will be casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the\u00a02024 Presidential Election<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“I\u2019m voting for @kamalaharris because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them. I think she is a steady-handed, gifted leader and I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos.”<\/p>\n

Despite a number of celebrity endorsements, Harris lost the election to Trump, which is one reason why Lawrence has decided to no longer speak out.<\/p>\n

“I don\u2019t really know if I should,” she\u00a0told<\/a>\u00a0the New York Times.<\/p>\n

“During the first Trump administration, I felt like I was running around like a chicken with my head cut off. But as we\u2019ve learned, election after election, celebrities do not make a difference whatsoever on who people vote for.<\/p>\n

“So then what am I doing? I\u2019m just sharing my opinion on something that\u2019s going to add fuel to a fire that\u2019s ripping the country apart.”<\/p>\n

When asked about whether she regretted speaking out during Trump’s first term, she said: “Probably? I regret everything I\u2019ve ever done or said.<\/p>\n

“I\u2019m going to take the zip drives out of all of these cameras when I leave. The second term feels different. Because he said what he was going to do. We knew what he did for four years.<\/p>\n

“He was very clear. And that\u2019s what we chose.”<\/p>\n

Lawrence has been promoting her new movie, Die My Love (Dimitrios Kambouris\/Getty Images)<\/cite><\/div>\n

Lawrence spoke to the publication while promoting her upcoming\u00a0movie<\/a>,\u00a0Die My Love<\/em>, which is set to be released in cinemas on 7 November.<\/p>\n

The movie is a psychological thriller also starring Robert Pattinson, Sissy Spacek and LaKeith Stanfield.<\/p>\n
