Stephen A. Smith has made his feelings clear on the possibility of\u00a0Colin Kaepernick<\/a>\u00a0returning to the\u00a0NFL<\/a>.<\/p>\n

A route back to the league has opened up for the former quarterback, although it\u2019s not the one he really wants, with new\u00a0Los Angeles Chargers<\/a>\u00a0head coach\u00a0Jim Harbaugh<\/a>\u00a0offering him a coaching job with the team.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf that was ever the path he was to take, I think that would be tremendous,\u201d\u00a0<\/em>Harbaugh said this week, per\u00a0USA Today<\/a>.\u00a0\u201cHe\u2019d be a tremendous coach, if that\u2019s the path he chose.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Smith discussed the surprising job offer on his podcast on Wednesday and, having been one of Kap\u2019s most outspoken critics over the years, suggested he could be a good coach, though he reckons the former 49ers star\u2019s time as an NFL player is done.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf he wants to bring Colin Kaepernick there, cool. No problem. I think Colin Kaepernick would be a good coach. I think that Colin Kaepernick, if he wants the opportunity, should be the coach,\u201d<\/em>\u00a0the ESPN host remarked (H\/T Awful Announcing).<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat I would say however is I don\u2019t want to hear [expletive] about him being a quarterback. That ship should have sailed. Not only has it sailed, it should have sailed. I know some people don\u2019t want to say it, I will.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n
