Jason Kelce\u00a0<\/a>has a new workout coach in retirement, and that\u2019s wife\u00a0Kylie Kelce<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe just implemented this, but she said I have to work out a minimum of three days a week, otherwise she doesn’t want to deal with me,\u201d Jason, 36, quipped on the Friday, August 9, episode of Yote House Media\u2019s\u00a0\u201cGreen Light With Chris Long\u201d<\/a>\u00a0podcast. \u201cWhen I’ve worked out, I am in a great mood; I interact well at home with my kids and everybody \u2013\u2013 I just am a better person.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to Jason, whenever he doesn\u2019t work out he can feel \u201clike [he\u2019s] not really being productive for the day.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jason and Kylie, 32, have been married since 2018 and\u00a0share daughters<\/a>\u00a0Wyatt, 4, Ellie, 3, and Bennett, 18 months. The family faced a new challenge in March when Jason\u00a0confirmed his retiremen<\/a>t from the Philadelphia Eagles.<\/p>\n

Thanks to his retirement and\u00a0Kylie\u2019s rules<\/a>, Jason has started slimming down.<\/p>\n

\u201c[I weighed] 276 [pounds] this morning. It was big because I was stuck at 280 for a long time [over] the last three months,\u201d Jason said. \u201c[I was] 295 [before retirement].\u201d<\/p>\n

Jason further noted that the smallest he ever weighed during his NFL tenure was in the 270s.<\/p>\n

\u201cI remember looking at the scale, [thinking], \u2018Oh crap, I gotta eat some food,\u201d the retired center explained. \u201cOn [former Eagles coach] Chip [Kelly\u2019s] offense, it wasn\u2019t bad because there was no stopping. So, it benefited you a little bit to be lighter because, as you know, the tempo slows down big guys. It didn\u2019t transition well when we stopped in huddle.\u201d<\/p>\n

He continued, \u201cI think it just depended on the offensive and the plays being run. In Chip\u2019s offense, the weight didn\u2019t hinder that much but it was actually a big transition going back to [former Eagles coach] Doug [Pederson]\u2019s offense and that was a big deal. I forgot, going out of that tempo offense, how when the defense has more energy how much more that impacts how well they bull-rush.\u201d<\/p>\n

In addition to getting in shape in the gym per Kylie\u2019s orders, Jason is gearing up for a new job as\u00a0one of the ESPN anchors<\/a>\u00a0for the NFL season.<\/p>\n

\u201cI mean, swearing is up there,\u201d he joked of his broadcast fears. \u201cI guess I’m fearful that I’m not going to be prepared because I feel like there’s a lot more like autonomy on making sure you’re on top of your stuff. Once you’re removed from [being in the NFL], you got to go out of your way to really watch things and really iron in on what’s happening, to do a reputable job.
