Fox Sports\u2019 NFL crew briefly spoke out Sunday on colleague Mark Sanchez\u2019s stabbing and subsequent arrest<\/a> in Indianapolis this weekend.<\/p>\n

Charissa Thompson, host of \u201cFox NFL Kickoff,\u201d addressed viewers solo Sunday morning, stating, \u201cFriday night in Indianapolis, one of our team members, Mark Sanchez, was involved in an incident that we are still trying to wrap our heads around, and at this time, our thoughts and prayers are with Mark, his family, and all of those involved.\u201d<\/p>\n

That message was echoed later in the broadcast by \u201cFox NFL Sunday\u201d host Curt Menefee, reiterating that the matter is something<\/a> \u201cwe\u2019re all still trying to wrap our heads around.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sanchez, 38, was involved in a late-night altercation Friday outside a bar in Indianapolis, where he was slated to call Sunday\u2019s game between the Colts and Raiders.<\/p>\n

The former NFL quarterback was stabbed in the chest<\/a> during a spat with a 69-year-old man, who claimed he acted in self-defense<\/a> and alleged Sanchez was the aggressor, according to Fox 59\/CBS4.<\/p>\n

Sanchez was said to have been \u201cacting erratically\u201d<\/a> prior to the incident, \u201cdoing wind sprints in the alley before the stabbing occurred,\u201d a source told the local outlet.<\/p>\n

He was hospitalized and charged later in the day with misdemeanor counts of battery with injury, public intoxication and unlawful entry of a motor vehicle.<\/p>\n

As of Saturday evening, Sanchez remained hospitalized.<\/p>\n

The Jets\u2019 fifth overall pick out of USC in 2009, Sanchez played for the Jets for five seasons before bouncing around the league for the remainder of his career. He spent his final NFL season with Washington in 2018.<\/p>\n

Three years later, Sanchez joined Fox Sports as a game analyst.<\/p>\n
