Most of the time, news stations want to keep things secular for their viewers, so you don\u2019t really expect to see their anchors lead prayer on air. Hegseth, the host of Fox News, had other plans, though.<\/strong><\/p>\n

On Sunday, Fox News show Pete Hegseth asked co-hosts of\u00a0\u201cFox & Friends\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0and viewers to pray. In a section paid for by a Bible app, the host did that.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have more \u2018Fox and Friends\u2019 coming up, but you know what, this is a transition for transitions if you\u2019ve ever had one,\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0he\u00a0said<\/a>\u00a0as he laughed.<\/p>\n

Rachel Campos-Duffy, co-host of Weekend, then added,\u00a0\u201cSo \u2018Fox and Friends.\u2019\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

Hegseth agreed,\u00a0\u201cThis is very \u2018Fox and Friends, so ready your heart.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s the 5th Sunday of Lent, and our prayer series continues with the reading of prayer from the Hallow app,\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0Hegseth went on.\u00a0\u201cWe all need it, let\u2019s do it this morning, close your eyes \u2014 if you would, bow your head.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

He then read the prayer from the Hallow app while Campos-Duffy and Will Cain, his co-hosts, bowed their heads in respect.<\/p>\n

\u201cJesus, today we begin the holy period of passion tide,\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0Hegseth read.\u00a0\u201cIn these last 2 weeks of Lent, help us understand the mystery of your sacrifice and surrender, make us keenly aware of your love for us. We ask that you make yourself known to us, help us to feel the grace of your presence.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

Hegseth complimented Christ on the\u00a0\u201cselfless love you showed on the cross\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0and ended by saying,\u00a0\u201cThank you again to Hallow for this partnership during Lent.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cAmen,\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0added Campos-Duffy.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Huffington Post<\/a>\u00a0says that Fox News showed a part of the piece about the Hallow app on Ash Wednesday. Mark Wahlberg, the actor, was called as a guest as part of the sponsorship.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s not the first time a Fox News host has talked about their faith live. Before, host Kayleigh McEnany said this about Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson:\u00a0\u201cI really believe he thinks God is leading the way \u2014 this will all get figured out.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cTo everyone out there, pray for him as our speaker,\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0co-host Ainsley Earhardt said on the same episode of Johnson.\u00a0\u201cOur country really needs some guidance from God right now.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

Even though everyone in the US is free to follow their own religion, this prayer on TV may have upset some people. One person\u00a0Fox News Host Pete Hegseth Lead Prayer On Live Television. And It Seems To Have Caused A Heated Debate Online<\/a>,\u00a0\u201cThese people don\u2019t praise God the rest of time. It\u2019s a political stunt to make you believe they do. Fox news spreads falsehoods and conspiracy theories, remember they paid a hefty fine for doing so. Hypocrisy at its best!!\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

While another added,\u00a0\u201cabout as religious as a rock.\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0Another disgruntled viewer wrote,\u00a0\u201cThese people praying is a joke. They sit there everyday and lie threw their mouths. You never hear the truth about anything. So please give me a break.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

It looks like some people didn\u2019t believe the prayer and thought it was made up, but dozens of people spoke out in support of the idea.<\/p>\n
