Taylor Swift shocked fans after admitting there\u2019s one part of her body she doesn\u2019t wash during her shower routine.<\/strong><\/p>\n

We’ve all got different methods when it comes to scrubbing our bodies in the shower. Personally, I rub shower gel all over me before rinsing it off, starting from my legs and working my way up.<\/p>\n

As for the 35-year-old singer<\/a>, she doesn’t follow the same practice and the revelation sparked debate online, with some fans calling it controversial while others confessed they do the same.<\/p>\n

It’s been a busy year for the 14-time Grammy winner, with her engagement to Travis Kelce ‘breaking the internet’<\/a> and the release of her new album, The Life of a Showgirl<\/em>, causing a stir<\/a>.<\/p>\n

But it was during an appearance on The Ellen Show<\/em> back in 2019 that Swift<\/a> opened up about her hygiene habits.<\/p>\n

Ellen DeGeneres<\/a> asked Swift the burning question: \u201cDo you wash your legs in the shower?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI do, but only when I shave,\u201d Swift admitted.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe shaving cream is like soap, right?\u201d she joked, with DeGeneres nodding along in agreement.<\/p>\n

The talk show host added: \u201cI think that\u2019s the reason that most women wash their legs – because we have to, because we shave our legs.\u201d<\/p>\n

Social media quickly reacted to the clip, with users expressing both confusion and amusement.<\/p>\n

\u201cTaylor Swift said she don\u2019t wash her legs but she shaves them girl that is not the same thing wtf,\u201d one fan wrote.<\/p>\n

Another added: \u201cI\u2019m confused, isn\u2019t the shower supposed to be the place where you wash EVERYTHING?!\u201d<\/p>\n

But for some, Swift\u2019s pared-back approach actually makes sense.<\/p>\n

Dr Joshua Zeichner, director of cosmetic and clinical research in dermatology at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York<\/a>, explained to Women\u2019s Health that washing your legs isn\u2019t as crucial as you might think.<\/p>\n

\u201cUnless your legs are visibly soiled, you don\u2019t actually need to wash them directly with a cleanser,\u201d he said<\/a>. \u201cThe cleanser that drips down your body is enough to remove most of the dirt and sweat that accumulates during the day.\u201d<\/p>\n

Zeichner did, however, emphasise that your feet should always<\/em> get a good wash.<\/p>\n

While society may deem those who don’t scrub their legs in the shower as unhygienic, dermatologist Dr Julie Russak, of Manhattan, told<\/a> The New York Post that those in her profession do not recommend daily showers.<\/p>\n

Dr Russak said that bath soap ‘really removes and destroys the skin\u2019s microbiome’ which she claimed is ‘extremely important in overall health of the body’.<\/p>\n

While in 2020, physician James Hamblin wrote a book<\/a> on why he decided to stop showering – Clean: The New Science of Skin<\/em>.<\/p>\n

He told<\/a> the BBC that anyone who ‘mocks’ people who don’t shower as frequent ‘are betraying profound ignorance of the skin microbiome’.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
